A Dog’s Story (Synopsis)
The movie
"Hachi: A Dog's Story" tells the story of a dog that is very loyal to
his master,
exceeding the limits
of fidelity to the average dog.
The story
begins when the Professor Parker Wilson (Richard Gere) finds a small dog in
Railway Station Bedridge, Wonsocked, USA, where he used to go to work and home
from work. manifold akita dog was then invited to go home and named Hachiko.
Parker and his
wife Cate (Joan Allen) took care of the dog Hachiko grow up big and no day
passed without playing with Hachiko Parker.
One day, when
Hachiko have grown up, unexpectedly he followed Parker to the station when
Parker went to work. Parker was forced out of the train to return home Hachico.
However, it turns out Hachico pick him up at the station at 05.00 pm. Since
then Parker let Hachico escort shuttle at the station.
The kiosk
owners, merchants, and pedestrians, as well as the "commuter" (people
who work as a train driver) were astonished by the behavior of the dog Hachiko
who do not like in general. All the people around Bedridge Station loving dog
Hachiko and always greet it like a man.
Until one day,
Hachiko not find the arrival of his master at the station at 05.00 pm. Parker
Wilson apparently died of a heart attack when he was teaching, while Hachiko
never seem to understand about the death of Parker.
After Parker's
death, Cate sell his house and leave Bedridge. While Hachiko maintained by
daughter Parker, Andy Wilson (Sarah Roemer). Hachiko repeatedly ran away from
home Andy to go to the station, hoping he would find his master returned.
Andy always
pick Hachiko at the station until Andy finally gave up Hachiko went. Hachiko
stay at the station and at 05:00 pm, he will sit on the roundabout in front of
the station, awaiting the arrival of his master.
The uniqueness
of Hachiko's behavior attracted the attention of people around, even writing
about it was published in the newspapers so that the story of this dog into a
legend. So people feeding Hachiko interchangeably.
Loyalty Hachiko survive until the
tenth year of the death of Parker. Until finally in the winter of ten, Hachiko
died at the roundabout station at midnight.
Making this
film inspired by the true story of a dog named Hachiko who lived in the span of
years 1923-1935 in Japan.
The story
presented in Hachi: A Dog's Tale is exactly the same as the original story. In
Japan, a monument in the form of a statue to commemorate the fidelity of Hachiko
was erected in front of Shibuya Station.
